SUMMARY:Cultivating Curiosity\, Experimentation\, and Engineering
DESCRIPTION: I remember discovering View Source in the ’90s and realizing I could see how someone made a webpage. That curiosity led me to tinkering with hardware\, troubleshooting Windows environments\, and writing scripts to solve problems I was tired of doing manually.\n\nOver the years\, those small experiments led to opportunities I never could have planned\; from building an Outlook phishing button to solve a problem at work\, to creating open-source security tools\, to engineering systems used by millions of people and processing billions of security events.\n\nIn this talk\, I’ll share some of the things I tried\, the things I broke\, and the problems that sent me down unexpected paths. View Source is about cultivating the curiosity to look a little deeper\, experiment\, learn from what happens\, and how that habit can shape the way we work\, the things we build\, and the people we become.

SUMMARY:The CMMC Reality Check: What We’re Seeing from the Front Lines — and One Big Prediction
DESCRIPTION:CMMC has moved from something organizations were “getting ready for” to something they now have to make real decisions around. The problem is that the hard part usually isn’t reading the framework. It’s figuring out what it actually means when CUI is sitting on a workstation\, a software vendor needs remote access\, a printer stores documents\, a subcontractor needs access to data\, or a contract says Level 2 when the environment barely touches CUI.\n\nThis talk is a reality check on CMMC from the front lines. We’ll cover where CMMC stands today\, what Level 1 and Level 2 actually look like in practice\, and some of the most common areas where contractors\, IT teams\, and leadership get stuck. We’ll also talk about scoping\, CUI boundaries\, enclaves\, primes and subcontractors\, and why buying another security product usually does not solve the real problem.\n\nThe goal is not to turn everyone into a CMMC assessor. It is to give security practitioners a practical understanding of what organizations are actually dealing with as CMMC becomes part of normal DoD/DoW contracting.\n\nAnd we’ll close with one big prediction about where CMMC is headed next.

SUMMARY:Real-Time Fraud Detection with Distributed AI and Event-Driven Systems
DESCRIPTION:Financial systems increasingly rely on AI to identify fraudulent activity while processing transactions in real time. Achieving low latency\, operational resilience\, and regulatory compliance requires architectures that can scale without sacrificing reliability or transparency.\n\nThis session examines practical approaches to building fraud detection platforms using distributed AI\, event-driven architectures\, and cloud-native infrastructure. We explore how microservices and asynchronous messaging support independent scaling\, fault isolation\, and resilient transaction processing while maintaining traceability for compliance and auditing.\n\nThe session also covers infrastructure optimization techniques including container orchestration\, predictive autoscaling\, workload scheduling\, and AI model optimization methods such as model compression and tiered inference. These approaches help reduce compute overhead while maintaining consistent detection performance in production environments.\n\nBeyond technical implementation\, we discuss practical considerations for deploying AI in financial systems\, including explainability\, operational resilience\, and responsible resource management. Attendees will leave with architectural patterns and implementation insights for designing fraud detection systems that are scalable\, secure\, and production-ready.

SUMMARY:Building Trustworthy AI: Practical Governance for Modern IT Teams
DESCRIPTION:AI is quickly becoming part of everyday software development\, data platforms\, and business operations. While organizations are eager to adopt new AI capabilities\, many struggle with questions around data quality\, accountability\, security\, and oversight. Governance can help address these challenges\, but only if it fits naturally into existing engineering and IT workflows.\n\nThis session explores practical approaches for governing AI without slowing innovation. We'll discuss how organizations can use AI to automate routine governance tasks such as metadata management\, documentation\, data quality monitoring\, and policy enforcement\, while keeping people responsible for decisions that require context and judgment.\n\nDrawing on research and implementation examples across multiple industries\, the session examines how human-AI collaboration improves governance efficiency\, increases confidence in data\, and supports responsible AI adoption. We'll also cover common implementation challenges\, including balancing automation with oversight\, establishing clear accountability\, and integrating governance into modern development practices.\n\nAttendees will leave with practical frameworks they can apply to build trusted AI systems\, strengthen data governance\, and support responsible AI adoption across software\, data\, and IT teams.

SUMMARY:The Credibility Equation: How Everyday Choices Shape Trust\, Influence\, and Opportunity
DESCRIPTION:Credibility is one of the most valuable assets a business analysis professional can possess\, yet few build it intentionally. While technical skills and domain knowledge matter\, lasting credibility is earned through something deeper: consistently demonstrating competence\, reliability\, integrity\, and sound judgment. These qualities shape the trust others place in our recommendations\, decisions\, and leadership\, influencing everything from stakeholder relationships to career opportunities.\n\nIn this session\, we'll explore the Credibility Equation\, a practical framework built around competence\, reliability\, integrity\, and judgment. We'll examine how credibility is built through everyday professional choices\, reinforced through consistent delivery\, and tested when projects become difficult or uncertain. Through practical examples and guided reflection\, you'll learn how credibility is earned\, how it can be unintentionally damaged\, and how to strengthen it through deliberate professional practice.\n\nWhether you are establishing yourself in a new role\, seeking greater influence\, or looking to become a trusted decision partner\, this session will provide a practical framework for building the trust and confidence that underpin long-term professional success.\n\nAttendees will learn:\n1. Why credibility is a product of professional practice rather than personality\, and how competence\, reliability\, integrity\, and judgment shape the trust others place in us.\n2. How everyday professional choices influence reputation\, trust\, and professional opportunities\, often long before formal authority or expertise are recognized.\n3. How to use the Credibility Equation as a practical framework for strengthening influence and becoming a trusted decision partner.

SUMMARY:Can We Make $1 Million in the Next Hour? (Live-Coding a Full-Stack App)
DESCRIPTION:Can we make a $1 million? Probably not\, but we can deploy a whole app! In this live-coding session\, we will attempt the "impossible": going from a blank editor to a deployed\, database-backed application with a functional UI before the session timer runs out.\n\nThis isn't a get-rich-quick scheme\; This is a crash course on how to vibe code your way to success: we will use Claude and Gemini\, NotebookLM to generate ideas\, OpenArt for assets\, and our favorite agents to generate our documentation on the fly.\n\nWhile all can benefit from this session\, it's designed for those who are skeptical or intimidated by agentic workflows\, this session will cover:\n\nThe Product Manager Mindset: How to prompt for architecture\, not just syntax. We will discuss the "Accept All" trap and how to spot hallucinations before they break production.\n\nThe Live Stack: A look at the specific toolchain for 2026 rapid deployment that makes this speed possible.\n\nThe Reality Check: We won't just show the happy path. We will do live debugging and discuss the security implications of shipping AI-generated code.\n\nWe'll crowdsource the app idea from a curated list at the start of the hour. Will we walk away millionaires? We can hope. Will you walk away knowing exactly how to build your next big idea? Definitely.

SUMMARY:The $0 Pentest Stack: Free Tools\, Real Frustrations\, and What I Learned Building a Security Practice
DESCRIPTION:Most penetration testing guides show you the final workflow. Nobody talks about what it actually looks like to build a security practice from scratch using only free and open-source tools — the incompatibilities\, the missing connective tissue\, the hours spent reformatting output from one tool so another tool can read it.\n\nThis is that talk. We'll walk through the real journey: starting with nothing but time and freely available tools (BloodHound\, Certipy\, Impacket\, kerbrute\, hashcat\, Burp Community)\, the moments where "works great with X" absolutely did not work with X\, and the workflow problems that nobody's documentation covers.\n\nThe goal isn't to discourage you — it's the opposite. The free toolchain is genuinely powerful. But understanding where the friction points are\, what you have to bridge manually\, and how to think about the end-to-end workflow before you start saves you the weeks of frustration I had to spend. Whether you're an IT admin who wants to run your first internal assessment\, a security analyst evaluating your defensive posture\, or someone just starting to learn offensive security — this talk gives you the honest map\, not the polished one.
